A contractor is finally on board to oversee the $10.8 million renovation of the William Stanley Business Park of the Berkshire’s largest building lot.
The city of Pittsfield has found the final piece of the financial puzzle it needs to finally begin the renovation of the largest building lot in the William Stanley Business Park, known as Site 9.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is granting $3 million from the MassWorks Infrastructure Program to the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority to support the redevelopment of the William Stanley Business Park’s Site 9.

The money from two separate state programs will pay for preparing building Site 9 for construction. The 16.5-acre tract borders on Tyler Street and Woodlawn Avenue at the northern end of the 52-acre business park.

“Last year was a tough one,” Tyer said.
She pointed to the economic package developed to support small businesses, non-profits, and residents. Some of the ways that the community came together to support one another were providing easy access to food, supplying Chromebooks to students after schools were closed, and creating 13 “grab and go” zones to support restaurants with takeout and delivery.
